Description
A vintage Murano art glass bowl/ashtray/dish.
Circa 1950s-1960s vintage, mid century styling.
It’s uranium glass (the yellowy outer) and has a very bright green glow under a UV light.
It’s in a rounded kidney shape with two folds inwards (would have been a fancy ashtray back in the day). 2.4cm wide undulating rims.
Red inner is cased in the pale uranium yellow, with rows of neatly controlled bubbles all round, smaller bubbles at the base.
Flat polished base with signs of its age.
It’s a nice piece in good condition.
Nicely made (handmade/mouth blown in Italy).
Some ageing to the baseline and small signs of its age.
No chips and displays well.
It’s not been used as an ashtray.
11.5cm x 9cm x 5cm.
420g, chunky thick art glass, especially around the rim.
Tooling/folding marks from being handmade.
Perfect for display and a splash of UV glow!
