Description
A vintage Robert Welch ‘owl’ String Dispenser, from the Victor Cast Ware range, British made.
Designed in 1990, this is probably from that 90s era.
To the top of the owl shape to one side is a steel blade for cutting the cord.
Made from solid cast iron, enamel coated in navy blue in the shape of a stylised owl.
Internally it has a screw mechanism for fitting rolls of string (string not included).
Stamped to the base with ‘Victor England. R. Welch design’.
14cm tall x 7.2cm wide.
Heavy and sturdy solid cast iron, it’s design ref no RW920.
Very good vintage condition with a few small spots of missing blue and a few small marks, see all pics.
Screw works well. Blade is untested.
Perfect as a prop for a retro blue kitchen, greenhouse, conservatory, office etc.
