Description
A super handmade art pottery vase…
It’s a freeform lump of stoneware/clay which looks to have been carved into before firing with a series of abstract patterns – different from every angle.
The incised areas have a pale grey/green glaze infill and the upper surface has a natural tan stone colour.
The decorations are fascinating – please see all photos.
It’s unsigned and probably 1970s by a student.
Quite a heavy lump of clay – weighs 1kg.
With a small hole making it a single stem vase (untested).
Probably more a statement carved ornament.
9 x 12 x 11cm.
Very good with no visible chips – as intended.
Unsigned.
Base has some natural firing cracks from being too thick a clay.
