Description
A small vintage Brutalist and mid-century styled ‘Manhattan’ trough by SylvaC, England.
Circa 1960s vintage, this was designed by George Matthews I believe.
This version is a small low trough vase, from the Manhattan series of pots, vases and troughs, and is in a deep khaki green colouring.
Rectangular block shape – smooth and tactile around the edges with four sides with linear raised cross patterns on the two long sides.
Stamped on the base with ‘3940 SylvaC Made in England’, this also maintains the original label.
A smaller sized 16cm long x 8.5cm tall x 8cm wide, good for display rather than use.
Looks good and displays well and is clean inside.
It sounds ‘dead’ so there’s an invisible crack or crazing or damage that I can’t see.
