A Whitefriars art glass vase in a tall rectangular shape – a ‘Nailhead’ 9683…
The textured shape originated in 1960s, designed by Geoffrey Baxter, and this version in Aubergine dates from the 1972 to 1973.
Aubergine was only around for a couple of years in the early 1970s.
Mouth blown into a mould, handmade in England.
It’s a random indented pattern of round nail heads on two sides, and smooth glass on the other two sides.

This nailhead has the older mould shape (a more irregular dotty pattern from before the pattern changed mid 1970s).
The striking plum/purple colour (Aubergine) is cased in clear glass.
Rectangular block shape with flat polished rim.
One top corner chip which extends about 1.5cm down the corner, please see all photos.
Priced accordingly.
Otherwise very good with some natural air bubbles within.
Measures 17cm in height x 4.3cm x 4.5cm wide at the base.
