Description
A beautiful example of the tapered chimney vase, designed by Geoffrey Baxter for British firm Whitefriars, pattern number 9655.
This one is the medium size – 7 3/4″ tall.
Pewter grey colour.
Being Pewter it dates from 1969-1972.
It’s cased in clear glass with a solid clear base.
Fairly petite – would hold up to a dozen slim stems.
It has no chips, fleabites, water marks, scratches, and the base is also good.
A few mini internal bubbles.
All as originally intended. Mouth blown – handmade.
Fire softened rim (rather than flat and polished).
A nice collectable clean example of Mid Century British glass.
Beautiful simple minimalist mid century design.
