Description
A vintage mid century art glass bowl – Murano, Italy origin.
Circa 1960s mid century.
A round geode shape – like it’s been cut in half with flat wide polished rim.
13.5cm wide with 2.5cm thick glass/rim.
The outer shell is precisely facet-cut in a honeycomb pattern – reflects the light!
Internally there’s a pale blue bowl, with an amber sommerso layer, cased in aqua blue.
There’s may be other layered colours in there too.
Mouth blown and handmade by an artist.
13.5 x 6cm – a good size.
Weighs over 1kg.
Would have been a fancy ashtray back in the day.
Looks good.
Has an outer rim chip, shown, and some fine nibbles.
A few small surface marks.
Please see pics – it’s a different type of geode, nicely made and true vintage.
Base is flat polished with the correct signs of age.
