A super glossy art pottery bowl by David T Sharp at Rye Pottery, Rye, Sussex.
Handmade, thrown on a wheel, and hand decorated.
Typical of David’s palette – muted duck egg blue/green with neutral tones.
Though not that typical of his work. White clay base.
Externally it’s brown/beige, speckled with running glossy glazes.
Internally it’s duck egg or minty blue/green alternating with brown splodges, all liquid and freehand, over white.
Circa 1970s vintage.
Hand signed to the base.
Very good with no chips or crazing.
Likely just used for display.
6cm tall x 15cm rim and max width.
