A lovely vintage Empoli tall genie bottle/decanter…
Vintage – most likely 1970s, and from Empoli, Italy.
It’s carefully and skillfully mouth blown and hand made rather than moulded or mass-produced pressed glass.
Tall conical bottle, smooth and tactile.
The grey could also be described as a warm graphite with a hint of mauve.
Stopper is long and hollow, nicely made with a roughly ground down inner end.
Good condition and displayable (hard to photo due to scale).
There are a few outer surface marks on close inspection.
Handmade so may have bubbles, wonky rim, etc.
Internally it has water marks, not a line, more a spotty film within.
I’ve tried washing up liquid but it needs something stronger, with scale at the base.
A larger sized – 59cm tall and 13cm wide at the base.
The stopper is 24.5cm long.
Beautiful and unusual colour.
It’s ornamental rather than practical.
