Description
A lovely larger neutral-toned vintage table lamp base by Broadstairs Pottery, Kent.
Circa 1970s or so – the pottery ran from 1968 to 1983.
Broadstairs Pottery was David James White and Mary Dening I believe, with some pots by Dianne Sanders.
No base stamp.
Typical of the 70s Studio Pottery era, and much like works from Tremain and Louis Hudson.
Warm biscuit coloured unglazed lower third with three rows of incised shapes, top half is a brown/beige glaze.
It’s wheel thrown stoneware/pottery, handmade, and tapers inwards towards the top flat hole.
Hole to the base for your cord and room inside to fit the lamp fixings.
No fittings included.
It’s a larger sized 23cm tall x 15.5cm wide.
Very good condition with no chips, see pics.
Some marks.
A natural glazing flaw line to the rim.
