Description

A lovely neutral-toned vintage Wine Bottle Coaster (drip catcher saucer or candle holder) by Broadstairs Pottery, Kent.
Circa 1970s or so – the pottery ran from 1968 to 1983.
Broadstairs Pottery was David James White and Mary Dening I believe, with some pots by Dianne Sanders.
Base stamp underneath.

Typical of the 70s Studio Pottery era, and like works from Tremain and Louis Hudson.
Neutral coloured glaze with speckles, and nice central spiral from being hand formed.
It’s wheel thrown stoneware/pottery, handmade, straight sides, overlap to the inner rim.

Holds a standard wine bottle or a church/pillar candle.

Very good condition with no chips, see pics.
One black mark.
10.7cm wide, inner area is 8.2cm. 2.5cm tall.
