Description
A lovely ‘Himalayan Poppy‘ vase, by Poole Pottery, England.
Circa late 1990s design, and probably part of the more recent Living Glaze ranges.
‘Himalayan Poppy‘ was characterised by a blue budding small flower surrounded by larger blue petals and leaves with a red background.
Signed to the base by AX and SW – the painter and potter I would think.
Although about 15-25 years old, you can clearly see the 1960s/1970s Poole Pottery techniques and colours in this piece, just like Delphis. It’s all glossy glazes and good vibrant colours and black inner.

Stamped to the base with ‘Poole England’, along with the initials.
It’s a mid-sized traditional baluster style vase, ideal for a good sized bunch of flowers.
16.5cm tall x 12cm widest, 8.5cm outer rim.

Very good condition with no chips, really nice.
The glazes are deliberately liquid and running as part of the decor.
Being handmade no two of these are the same.
