Description

A lovely vintage handmade (wheel thrown) pale clay vase or taller plant pot holder, by Rye Pottery, Sussex.

The base stamp dates it to 1957 to 1969 mid century, and very likely by John and Walter Cole.
It does have a feint impressed maker’s/decorators mark that I can’t make out (looks like a fancy capital B).

Dusky deep olive or khaki green with white vertical scratched lines design.
White glazed inner and black rim. Smooth glossy glaze.
Very good condition, as manufactured/hand made with natural glazing quirks and wobbles.
No chips or cracks. Some pitting inside.

A good sized 14.5cm tall x 13 x 11.5cm wide at rim.
A slightly squashed round shape.
