Description

A lovely vintage Lotus Pottery large ashtray or bowl or dish, designed by Michael and Elizabeth Skipworth in the 1960s. Circa 1960/1970s vintage, handmade studio pottery.

It’s a large shallow wheel thrown dish with their distinctive daisy flower motif to the centre. Dark olive/sage green (looks brown) with a greeny grey speckled daisy motif… the classic ‘Petal on Sage’ colourway I believe. It is stamped to the base with the ‘Lotus, Stoke Gabriel, S Devon’ round logo within a circle (hard to make out). Beautiful smooth glossy glaze, typically 1970s retro. Quite heavy thick clay.

Big and curved with 5 indents – 19cm x 4cm.

Very good condition with no chips, some fine surface marks.
