Description
A vintage art glass bowl (or ashtray or dish) by Ronald Stennett-Willson at Wedgwood Glass, England.
Model number RSW27, part of the textured range.
This design is said to have been to commemorate the 1969 moon landing, and the pattern represents the “footprint” left on the moons surface by the lunar module. It has also been described as a “fleur-de-lis” and as a “snowflake” design… so who knows where it originated.
1970s vintage in Midnight or Sapphire Blue, cased in clear glass.
Mouth blown, using a mould. Moulded geometric pattern is to the base.
13cm wide x 5.5cm tall – quite a heavy chunk of glass.
Straight sided, with modernist mid-century and retro styling.
Used and vintage condition.
No chips, but it does has fine surface marks all over and natural enclosed bubbles in the glass.
