Description

A lovely and rather large Bitossi jug-shaped statement vase.

It’s spherical, a large ball shape, with Bitossi’s ‘Spagnolo’ pattern around.
Mid century, and designed by Aldo Londi – circa 1960s/1970s vintage.
Italian large heavy pottery/stoneware with their typical rough surfaces.
Colouring is mustard yellow or ochre with brown and green hand-painted areas in the indented pattern.
A big 25.5cm tall x 22cm wide and a heavy 3.1kg.
Inner rim is 6cm – would take a few statement branches or look great as a stand-alone piece.

Excellent apart from a recent baseline chip, see photos.
On display you can’t see the chip (Unless eye-sight is up level with it).
Unsigned (although it’s probably model no L38/25).
